Character: TWEEN 40 also known as Polyoxyethylene (20) Sorbitan Monopalmitate or Polysorbate 40, is a kind of yellow clear oily liquid; it is soluble in water, ethanol, methanol, ethyl acetate and acetone and other organic solvents, while insoluble in plant oil and mineral oil; the relative density is 1.05 ~ 1.10, HLB value is 15.6.
Applications: Food grade TWEEN 40 is a kind of O/W emulsifier, it is widely used as emulsifier, solubilizer, stabilizer and dispersing agent in various industries including food, medicine and cosmetic; it is also used as antistatic agent and fiber lubricant agent for the textile industry and as emulsifying agent, softening agent and lubricating agent for synthetic fiber oil products.
